anchored soul?

Soul Anchoring is a phrase I have used for the last year or so describe a process I go through on a daily basis.  It is the process by which I daily anchor my soul to Him Who is immovable, unshakeable, and unchanging.  It is the practice in which I take hold of the hope set before me and am greatly encouraged. And I have that hope as an anchor for the soul firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf... (Hebrews 6:18-20, paraphrased).

It is like centering or grounding, but it has a greater focus than just myself.  It is focused on the one, true, living God.  It is about His glory and honor in my life.  I believe the only way for me to acknowledge and show that He alone is worthy of all glory and honor and praise is to a live a life of devotion to Him; doing what He has called me to do.  And the only way for me to do that is to begin my day anchoring my soul to Him.

This blog is about my journey of life – some of it is serious, some funny, some makes no sense, some is boring, some is profound, all is life.  This blog used to be called journey because I felt like that was the best way of describing my life.  Ever moving, ever in-process.  But a lot has changed lately and paradigms are shifting.  The name “journey” just didn’t seem to fit right anymore.  It seems that although I am still moving and in-process, something is different.  More is at stake.

My husband is wise.  He and I were discussing this and he said that it seems that now instead of a journey, I am on an adventure.  Instead of simply traveling from one place to another, as a journey would denote, I’m having an adventure – an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity.  I am engaging in the exploration of unknown territory.  Yes.  Adventure.

So, welcome to my adventure.  I hope you enjoy it.
