Marcia Moston wrote a little treasure of a book called “Call of a Coward – The God of Moses and the Middle-Class Housewife.” Her story is real, relevant and relatable to today’s Christ-follower as she recounts her stories of God’s faithfulness in her life, even when she has no idea what He is up to.
For anyone who has ever followed God into the great unknown, this story makes perfect sense. The questions, doubts, resignation and trust Marcia faces on her journey remind the reader that God has a plan that is not always our plan. From a terrifyingly dangerous road trip required to reach modern civilization to the seemingly awkward, too-soon call back home to the understanding of at least part of God’s plan, Marcia uses humor and honesty to reach the heart of her reader.
I laughed, I cried, I know that the God of the universe that orchestrates my steps in sometimes mysterious ways is the same God that holds Marcia’s hand as she does her very best to be still and know that He is God. After reading this book, I felt like I could call Marcia up and go for coffee to talk about our big God and His big, crazy movements in our lives.
